Things I Have Learned
- Sometimes it’s better to keep writing, even if you end up not liking what you wrote or even if you think it’s going in the wrong direction, than to keep staring at a blank screen for hours on end. pshaw
Still snuffling away and fighting my deadlines. But I’m almost done; more than 5/8. It’s a good thing. I will be back to play soon. – wg
BTW – When and how did we get halfway through November already?! Didn’t October just end? This is really fucking with my “Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving” plan.
Weirdgirl, what exactly are you writing? Are you doing one of your freelance jobs?
It’s crazy, isn’t it? Thanksgiving is next freaking week!
I got both freelance work going on and some personal writing. I just picked up an online newsletter gig, and some ad re-writes (easy-peasy). But I’m also in the middle of a short story, ’cause you know, if I WANT to write creatively it would be best if I got off my but and ACTUALLY started to send out submissions.
It’s life, everything always hits at once.
Phoenix, I hope you’re feeling better too!!
Got a little chest congestion, but it’s not sapping my energy. Little Phoenix is doing well too after his surgery.
From blogging since only August, it’s giving me the writer’s bug. I haven’t written creatively since college. That was over 10 years ago!
Hey Phoenix, if you ever want to exchange written pieces for constructive criticism I would be interested. Since I’m not in school right now I haven’t had access to the usual writing groups, and I’ve been thinking of setting up an online one. I could use some readers, and I love reading other people’s works too. It’s always a rich experience both ways.
Oh, and just so you know, I write mainly fiction and poetry – both formal and informal, but my training is mainly formal poetry, so I can speak a lot to that. Bet you couldn’t tell that from my blog, huh?
