And I see the boy is indulging in that favourite spring-and-summer activity, bumper-shining.
Maybe you used a different term than I did in rural central Ontario, way back when… “Bumper-shining” is not what you do at the car wash. It is when you grab hold of the back of a vehicle and hitch a ride on your bike. Did I ever indulge in such a ridiculously dangerous exercise? I can’t tell you. I think my mother would kill me even now…
